The grave is on the west side of the road, about 1/2 way between the flagpole and the next intersection. The stone is a tall, light colored granite. The Whitehill name is not visible from the road on this stone. There are other Whitehills buried nearby that may assist in locating the grave.

Another Sudden Death - J. C. Whitehill Passed Away Suddenly After Retiring
J. C. Whitehill aged 72, died very suddenly at his home at 804 Elm street at 12 o'clock Friday night, heart failure being the cause. His death came as quite a shock to is farmily [sic] as he was apparently in good health when he retired Friday evening. His funeral was held at the Methodist church this afternoon at 2:30 o'clock. Rev. Woodard having charge of the services. Mr. Whitehill was born March 15, 1845 in West Virginia. He was married to Miss Josephine Blakeney [sic] 40 years ago. They formerly lived in Locust Grove township where he was a dentist in that community. They moved to this city elevn [sic] years ago. He is survived by his wife and ten children who are Mrs. Viola Morrow of Omaha, Mrs. Leo Haley of Grafton, ND; Mrs L. Heine of Jireh, Wyo.; Mrs. C. W. Lynn, and Misses Grace, Blanche, Lyllie [sic], Earl Wendall [sic] and Mary of this city. He is also survived by two brothers, Sam and John Whitehill who live south of town and a sister, Mrs. Mary Messaler [sic] of Canton, Ill.
