Omaha Justice of Peace is Free on $500 Bond
Omaha (UP). Charges of extortion were filed Saturday by County Attorney James T. English against Edward Trapp, 73, justice of the peace in East Omaha. The complaint was made by Henry Kiromping, who charged Trapp forced him to pay $40.50 following disappearance and recovery of a motorboat owned by W. L. Weddington. No criminal charges ever were filed.

JUSTICE RESIGNS
Omaha (AP). Edward F. Trapp, 73, against whom an extortion charge is pending, submitted his resignation as justice of the peace in East Omaha, and the county board accepted unanimously. The extortion charge was file by the county attorney's office Jan. 20 after Henry Giromping complained that he was compelled to pay Trapp $1050, for the "services" of Trapp and his constable in a case in which a boat was allegedly stolen. Trapp is now free on $500 bond.
