• Newspaper Article, 22 Jan 1952, Harlan, Shelby County, Iowa, USA. 1925 Harlan News Advertiser: Mrs. Kenneth Juhl and her two sons, Wm. Bud, and Kenneth Jr., will leave from Bellevue, Nebr., January 28 for Okinawa, where she will join her husband, Master Sgt. Juhl who has been tranfered from Japan to that region. The family will then make their home there during his assignment. M. Sgt. Juhl is the son of the former Mrs. Flora Juhl, now Mrs. Otto Trexel.

Harlan Tribune; 29 FEB 1952: Harlan Sergeant Just Missed Crash
M/Sgt. Kenneth Juhl, son of Mrs. Otto Trexel, Harlan, is glad he was riding in the right airplane Tuesday of this week. He was in the plane that landed at Offutt Field, Omaha, just behind the B-50 bomber that crashed and burned, killing five and injuring twelve. Sergeant Juhl, who has been in the army 13 years, was retuning to Harlan from Okinawa to spend a furlough. He stoppted in California, calling his mother fro there Monday to tell her that he was on the way home. He had spent the year previous to last August in Japan.
