He died of Bright's disease on the 24th having been in failing health for the past two years. As a last resort, he was taken to the hospital where he passed peacefully away. The funeral was held at the family residence, 2509 Spencer street. Mr. Verlautz was born June 20th, 1854 at Templin, Germany and came to America with his parents in 1856, settling in Milwaukee, Wis. He came to Blair at the age of 17, making his home with his mother. In 1888, he was married to Katherine Leikauf, of Cincinnati, Ohio. Six children were born to them, three of who are living; Albert G., who lives on a farm near Crookston, Minn and Edna and Helen who lived at home. He was engaged in the harness business here for a good many years and had many warm friends who extend heartfelt sympathy to the bereaved family. He was a quiet, kindly man, a good father, neighbor and citizen. August married Katherine L. LIEKAUF in 1888.2977 (Katherine L.
