Mr. and Mrs. Wilbur Lynn celebrated their golden wedding anniversary Tuesday. Open house was held at their home on South avenue. Hosts and hostesses for the occasion were the three sons and two daughters and their families, Mr. and Mrs. Elbert Lynn, Mr. and Mrs. James Lynn, and Mr. and Mrs. Lowell Lynn, all of Shenandoah and Mrs. Owen Elwell of Conway, Kansas and Mr. and Mrs. Craig Thomas of Cody, Wyo. During the afternoon and evening over one hundred fifty friends called to pay their respects. A color scheme of gold and white was used in the serving table which was centered by a beautifully decorated wedding _____. Mrs. Will Tyner, Mrs. Ernie __________, and Mrs. Ivan ____________ presided during the serving while Mrs. Lowell Lynn and Mrs. Fred ____________ acted as dining room hostesses, assisted by Mrs. George Whitehill, Miss Blanche Whitehill, Miss Sara Jo Lynn and Miss Elberta Sue Lynn. Two grandsons, Jerry Lynn and Tom Lynn greeted the guests at the door. Mrs. __________ Simmons and Miss Grace Whitehill were in charge of the guest book. A clever display of the many greeting cards with floral and other gifts added to the festive charm of the occasion. The beautiful orchid corsage and yellow carnation booteniere were gifts from the grandchildren in Cody, Wyo. Out-of-town guests included a grandson, Chas. Lynn and family from Omaha, and the Rev. E. O. Douglas of Randolph. Mr. and Mrs. Lynn were married in Shenandoah in 1900 by Rev. J. B. Bartley. They lived in the Summit community until February 1949 when they moved to their present home. Mr. and Mrs. Thomas left for their home in Cody, Wyo. Thursday, while Mrs. Elwell and children Lenny, Beverly, and Clara Ann will remain for a longer visit.
